America's War: Talking About the Civil War and Emancipation on Their 150th Anniversaries
Let's Talk About It: Making Sense of the American Civil War
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Library Center.

The Library is hosting a five-part series of book discussions through April surrounding the American Civil War. Discussions will be led by Civil War scholar and Missouri State University history professor Dr. William Garret Piston. This month's topic is Choosing Sides with a discussion of selections from "America's War: Talking About the Civil War and Emancipation on Their 150th Anniversaries" edited by Edward L. Ayers. Limited to 30 participants; to register contact Brian Grubbs at briang@thelibrary.org or 616-0544 by Jan. 14. Register once for the entire series. Copies of the books will be made available to the participants. Let’s Talk About It: Making Sense of the American Civil War, a reading and discussion series, has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association. The discussion series is in partnership with Missouri State University Library and Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.
