Brush up on your computing skills and get familiar with Windows desktop functions. Armchair University: Ciphering, Spelling and Community Education in Rural Greene County

The history of rural education intersects with many things we are familiar with: rural electric cooperatives, the WPA, 4-H, the Extension Service, school lunches, the Greatest Generation and school busing. Join David Burton, civic communication specialist with MU Extension in southwest Missouri, and author of the book, "A History of Rural Schools in Greene County, Mo." as he uses a slide presentation of one-room schools in Greene County, Missouri, to detail the qualities that helped country schools fulfill their mission despite limitations and a lack of amenities.
