Wi-Fi Wireless Internet

All Springfield-Greene County Library locations are all equipped with free high-speed wireless Internet access.

If you have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop, bring it to the Library for use anywhere in our comfortable, quiet surroundings and enjoy the convenience of having our expert staff and other research materials a step away. There’s no port to connect to, no fee and no wait for a Library computer station to come available.

To connect to the Library's wireless network:

  1. The computer must have a wireless card that is 802.11b compatible with the appropriate software installed.
  2. Set your SSID (sometimes called ESSID) to LIBRARY. Refer to your WI-FI card instructions for details.
  3. Make sure WEP encryption is Disabled.
  4. Connection should be set for INFRASTRUCTURE mode.

The following Wireless Standards are supported at each facility:

  • TLC - 802.11b
  • LST - 802.11b
  • MID - 802.11b and 802.11g
  • BWD - 802.11b and 802.11g
